Guests who check out later than 12:00 (noon) will be charged for an extra night.
Photo Identification

A current passport (foreigner) or a national identification card (Thai citizen) is required and must be presented when checking in.

Without photo identification of your passport or national identification card, we cannot check you in. We reserve the right to charge you the first night of your reservation as a result of a late cancellation.

Data-sensitive materials such as passports and identification cards are strictly required for check-in only. All personal data will be kept private and confidential.
Payment

A major credit card is required when making a reservation. The name on the credit card must match the name under the reservation.

The first night of your reservation will be charged as a deposit fee. The Pre-paid Deposit is non-refundable.

Full payment is required upon check-in. You may pay by cash or credit card (with a 3% surcharge on the card).
Cancellation Policy
-
Cancellations or modifications must be made by e-mail only. Please e-mail info@thedearlykohtaohostel.com 48 hours, or more, prior to your arrival check-in time (14:00) of the first night of your reservation to avoid cancellation fees. Otherwise, you will be charged in full for the first night on your card as a late cancellation fee.

High-Peak seasons, period of January, 13th-15th April, July-August, and 11th-31st December cancellation policy is applied as follows ;

For the period of 13th-15th April, July through August cancellations or modifications must be made 5 days prior to arrival date to avoid a late cancellation fee. If cancellations or modifications are made within 5 days but no less than 3 days prior to the arrival date, only the first night of the reservation will be charged. If cancellations or modifications are made within 3 days prior to the arrival date, the total reservation will be charged.

For the period of 20th December through January cancellations or modifications must be made 7 days prior to arrival date to avoid a late cancellation fee. If cancellations or modifications are made within 7 days but no less than 3 days prior to the arrival date, only the first night of the reservation will be charged. If cancellations or modifications are made within 3 days prior to the arrival date, the total reservation will be charged.

If you booked through a third party, please contact them for cancellation or modifications.

In the case of a no-show, you will be charged for the full amount of the total reservation.
Other Deposits/Fees
-
A refundable cash deposit of 300THB is required upon check-in for the room key (100THB) and the provided towel (200THB). Once you have returned the room key and towel at checkout, you will be refunded. Missing items result in a partial refund.

The towel provided at check-in is for in-house use only.
-
Pool/Beach towels are available to rent for 30THB.
Extending Your Stay

The extension of your stay depends on availability. Guests should notify the front desk regarding any extensions as soon as possible, and we will try our best to make these accommodations.
Additional Guests
-
Additional guests and extra beds are only available in Superior Suite and Deluxe Suite rooms

Superior Suite: Maximum of 1 additional guest (child or adult)

Deluxe Suite: Maximum of 2 additional guests (2 children or 1 adult & 1 child)
-
Extra bed: A maximum of 1 additional bed can be added to the room with an additional 600THB (breakfast included)

Children under the age of 6 may stay for free, provided that the child is sharing the bed with the parents or guardians
Underage
-
If you are under the age of 18, a consent letter from a parent or guardian with contact information is required when checking in.

We do not accept bookings made by those under the age of 16. If you are under 16, you cannot stay in any shared room. You may stay in the private room but must be accompanied by an adult 18 years old or older.
Group Bookings

Depending on availability we cannot guarantee that all members of a group booking will be assigned the same shared room. We will try our best to make these accommodations.
Dormitory Rooms
-
The dormitory bed system is first come first serve. Guests are free to choose any available bed upon arrival. Once the bed is chosen, we will assign you that bed. Please do not change beds or use another bed to store your belongings on. If you wish to change beds, please notify us of the reason, and we will try our best to accommodate you. Failure to notify us will result in an additional bed charge.

If guests use any other beds than the one they are assigned to, they will have to pay for that bed as well.

Guests are not allowed to go inside any other rooms other than the one that they are assigned to.

If guests are unable to climb bunk bed ladders, we offer a dormitory option with 6 single beds as an alternative.

The air conditioning in all shared dormitory rooms will be off between 11:30-16:30.
Housekeeping
Dormitory
-
Daily cleaning service will be provided between 11:00 to 14:00 for guest rooms.

Bathrooms will be cleaned twice a day.
-
The bedding and linens will be changed every 3 days. If you would like the bedding and linen changed before the assigned date, please inform the front desk before 13:00.
Private Rooms
-
Housekeeping is provided daily. If you do not want us to enter the room, please hang the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door.

Bedding, linens, and towels will be changed every 3 days. If you would like to change them earlier, please place the little card on the bed.
-
If you only need replenishment, place a bag on your room’s doorknob to receive daily supplies such as complimentary drinking water and toilet paper.
Food and Drinks

Other than drinking water, no food and drinks are allowed in the guest rooms. Please utilize the lobby area or the canteen area to eat food.
-
Drinks are allowed in the common room and pool area.
Breakfast
-
Free breakfast is provided in the breakfast area from 7:00-10:00.

Please do not take any food outside of the breakfast area.
Safety and Security
-
The property is under 24-hour CCTV surveillance, and night security service is provided.
-
Personal lockers are provided in every dormitory room for each guest, but locks are not provided.
Visitors
-
Guest visitors are permitted in the lobby area; however, visitors are prohibited from all other areas of the premises at all times. There will be a penalty charge of 1000THB and the guest will be asked to leave immediately without a refund.
Limited Access
-
Guests have 24/7 access to all common areas such as the lobby, common room, and canteen.

For safety reasons, the pool is open 07:00 AM - 07:00 PM

Guests are not permitted to enter rooms that they are not assigned to. If you do, you will be asked to leave immediately with no refund.
Pool
-
The pool is exclusive for in-house guests only. Proper swimwear is required. Please read the pool rules before entering the pool
Illegal Activities/Items

Possession of illegal items such as drugs, weapons, and firearms, are prohibited from the premises at all times. Those in possession of any illegal item will be reported to police and will be asked to leave without a refund.
Inappropriate Behavior in Common Areas
-
Inappropriate behavior, such as sex, in any common areas including dormitories, bathrooms, common rooms, and other public spaces will not be tolerated. Common areas are shared spaces for all of our guests, so please be respectful of others.

Those who are not in compliance with this rule will be asked to leave immediately without a refund.
Smoking
-
Smoking indoors is prohibited in all of the rooms throughout the building. According to Thai laws, a 2000THB fine will be charged to anyone who smokes indoors. Please smoke in the smoking areas that are provided.
Noise and Curfew
-
Although there is no curfew, quiet hours are between 22:00 and 8:00. Please be respectful and mindful of others- especially in shared areas such as dormitory rooms, corridors, and balconies.
Respect
-
Be reasonable, mindful, and respectful of others. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone who does not behave in a sensible manner. We will ask you to leave immediately without a refund if you fail to do so.

Please remember to clean up after yourself in order to maintain a clean, comfortable, and cozy environment for everyone.
Shoes
-
Please remove your shoes while you are in the rooms. Shoe storage stations are provided in each room.
Lost and Found Items
-
Anything that is lost or forgotten by guests will be stored safely for up to 8 weeks. After 8 weeks, if the items remain unclaimed they will be donated.
Loss and Damage

All guests will be held responsible for anything that is lost or damaged while they stay with us.
Pets
-
We do not allow pets on the property.
Eco-Friendly Concept

Due to the conditions of the island, water and electricity are our most scarce resources on the island. Please be mindful of your usage to prevent any shortages.
Pick up & Drop off Service
-
Pick-up and drop-off service can be arranged through our hostel. This service is an additional 100THB. Please contact us through email to make arrangements in advance.
